The Oak Harbor City Council welcomes your attendance and participation at its meetings. The Council meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month*, 6:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers at 865 SE Barrington Drive. You may speak to the Council during the Public Comment portion at the beginning of each meeting and during any Public Hearings.

Council meetings are taped for playback on the local cable channel 10 following the Council meeting at the following days and times:

     Thursday: 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
     Saturday: 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The Council does occasionally meet in Executive Session, which is not open to the public by law. The Council can only discuss certain items of business during Executive Sessions. These topics include personnel matters, property acquisition and disposition, and legal advice on matters of litigation.

The Council also holds Standing Committee meetings** on subjects that apply to decisions they will be taking up in the regular Council meetings. These Standing Committee meetings give Council members an opportunity to get their questions answered so that when the item comes to Council, members will have the information required to make an appropriate decision. Standing Committee meetings are open to the public.

*Except the following: July, 1st Tuesday only
                                   August, 1st Wedensday only
November, 1st Wednesday and 3rd Tuesday

**For the months of April, May and June 2013, Standing Committee Meetings have been suspended. In place of those meetings, the Council will hold a workshop - schedule to come.
