Jail - Corrections

Comprised of one Jail Sergeant and six full-time Corrections Officer positions, the Jail Division is tasked with the care and custody, on a 24-hour, 365-day basis, of all persons detained in the City Jail - whether they have been sentenced to time served or to electronic home detention - as well as those individuals who are in custody pending a trial date. Corrections Officers are also responsible for the transportation requirements of the inmates to and from other jail facilities and work closely with their counterparts in those facilities, the Island County Jail in particular. The Oak Harbor Jail is designated as a 30-day holding facility and has a maximum capacity of 15 detainees. The Jail operates at or near capacity on a regular basis.
