Adopt A Park Program

The Adopt A Park Program encourages community organizations, school clubs, corporations, and individuals to take an active role in improving the City of Oak Harbor parks.  One unselfish act benefits the entire community. 

Adopting a park can take many forms including establishing a presence in the park, being on the look out for maintenance issues and reporting these to the City, and/or providing maintenance assistance in the form of general clean up,litter control, painting, and weeding.

We encourage you to become directly involved in improving parks, invest in environmental protection, and protect our resources while experiencing personal, social, and physical rewards.

The City will erect a sign in the adopted park bearing the name of the adopting group or individual. In addition, the City will keep the public informed of the adopting group’s activities in the park.

While investing in the environment, you or your group will find this to be a worthwhile and creative opportunity to improve and foster pride in our community.
