Centennial Oak Grove

The Centennial Grove
is a true community project that has established a new Garry oak grove on the north end of the City at the intersection of Fakkema Road and State Route 20.  The Grove celebrates our 100 years since incorporation and bolsters the City’s Garry oak population, while providing habitat, stormwater benefits, carbon sequestration, and an aesthetic value to the north entrance to the City.  It will also reduce the urban heat island effect, filter the air, and improve the soils.

of incorporation for our beautiful city

*Note that establishment differs from incorporation in that incorporating a town means the State recognizes that entity as having authority to conduct government business, such as hold elections, collect taxes, and provide indispensable services such as utilities, police power, fire protection, etc.
