Patriot Day
US Flag Half-Staff Reminder
Patriot Day
Patriot Day is a day in which we show our respect for those who lost their lives as well as honor the brave men and women who were injured on September 11th, 2001. Flags are to be flown at half-staff on all buildings, grounds, by all people of the United States, and naval vessels throughout the United States, and in all areas under its jurisdiction and control on September 11th, from dawn until dusk.

Many people observe a moment of silence at 8:46 AM (Eastern Daylight Time) which marks the time that the first plane flew into the World Trade Center.
As an additional reminder, Federal Buildings, Military Installations, National Cemeteries, V.A. Medical Centers, and State & Local Government Agencies should fly their POW/MIA Flag on this day as it is one of the designated holidays that require the POW/MIA flag be flown.
